Innovation is at the very heart of the origins of GET Group. In the early 1980's, the company was founded by a technocrat entrepreneur who had a unique idea to apply emerging digital printing technologies to the security document industry. These ideas were eagerly welcomed by customers seeking new solutions to the labor and cost intensive manual processes of their legacy systems and methods. Harnessing state-of-the-art digital printing technologies, and a passion for excellence, GET Group's Passport and ID Division quickly acquired expertise and attracted the interest of governments well beyond its initial small regional market for innovative passport and ID issuing solutions.

With the evolution of the computer and information technology industries in the 1990's, GET Group expanded its focus to develop and deliver its own proprietary software and integrated solutions to solve its customer's broader passport and ID requirements, thereby adding value to the entire security document product cycle. At this time, it also greatly expanded its IT solution offerings with the development of many solutions to meet the system requirements of its government customers, including e-purse, traffic management, access control, ICR, and census systems.

Over the years, GET Group's IT Division continued to further develop new solutions to serve the information technology needs of its customers demanding greater efficiencies and dependability from their systems.
